GRL Announces Qualcomm Quick Charge Certification Test Services

Granite River Labs (GRL), a global leader in engineering services and test solutions for connectivity, today announced their second generation USB Power Delivery and USB Type-C® compliance test solution, GRL-USB-PD-C2, was approved for official Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 4 and 4+ compliance testing in addition to versions 2.0 and 3.0. Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, has also selected GRL as an official Quick Charge certification lab at GRL’s facilities in Santa Clara, Yokohama, Taipei, Shanghai, Dongguan and Bangalore.

Quick Charge 4 implements additional safety measures to protect against overcharging, overheating, and other potential issues. These safety measures adhere to both the USB Type-C® and USB Power Delivery (USB PD) specifications. New key features such as USB PD’s Programmable Power Supply (PPS) enable fast, efficient charging by allowing the phone to intelligently decide the optimal voltage and current levels and effectively communicate with the charger.
