Automates Anritsu MP1900A with Tektronix and Keysight Oscilloscopes
Granite River Labs (GRL), a global leader in engineering services and test solutions for connectivity, today announced the release of a comprehensive PCI Express® (PCIe®) 5.0 receiver test automation software suite developed in cooperation with Anritsu Corporation. GRL-PCIE5-BASE-RXA provides an automated, simple and efficient way to test PCIe 5.0 designs using the Signal Quality Analyzer-R Series MP1900A, a PCI-SIG®-approved instrument for testing PCI Express 4.0, and Tektronix or Keysight real-time oscilloscope.
PCIe 5.0 reaches 32GT/s transfer rates to deliver the speed required for high-performance applications including 400G networks, artificial intelligence, machine learning, gaming, visual computing, and storage. The support such high levels of performance, the PCIe 5.0 standard prescribes rigorous test parameters, including the “cocktail” of receiver input stresses (jitter, inter-symbol interference, etc.) that the product under test must be able to tolerate.
GRL-PCIE5- BASE-RXA provides an intuitive user interface to make complex PCIe testing simple and repeatable. GRL-PCIE5-BASE-RXA automates the MP1900A and Keysight or Tektronix real-time oscilloscope to calibrate the receiver stressed eye diagram and measure Bit Error Rate (BER) in accordance with the PCIe 5.0 Base (silicon) specification. GRL-PCIE5-BASE-RXA also supports automated jitter margin and customized stress parameters to allow engineers to discover the true performance of your design.
GRL-PCIE5-BASE-RXA is the latest addition to GRL’s Anritsu MP1900A receiver test solution portfolio, which also includes PCI Express 4.0, USB 3.2, and Thunderbolt 3, and forthcoming release of PCIe 5.0 CEM.
“We are excited to deliver a new PCIe 5.0 receiver test solution in partnership with GRL,” said Hiroshi Goto, BERT Business Development Manager of Anritsu Corporation. “Our solution allows engineers to quickly produce highly reproducible PCIe 5.0 receiver test results using world-class Anritsu hardware that supports multi-channel wideband interfaces up to 112 Gbps.”
”GRL is proud to offer this this solution to the PCI Express developer community in partnership with Anritsu and add to our list of contributions to the PCIe ecosystem,” said Miki Takahashi, GRL Executive Vice President of Engineering. “GRL’s test automation software platform provides engineers with valuable tools to efficiently debug and validate early product designs across multiple technology compliance programs using the Anritsu BERT and multiple vendors’ oscilloscopes.”
Key GRL-PCIE5-BASE-RXA features include:
- One-button calibration of signal impairments to achieve stressed receiver eye height and eye width in accordance with PCIe 5.0 Base specification
- Flexible and seamless integration with Keysight and Tektronix real-time scopes
- Integrated industry standard tools Seasim and Sigtest for stressed signal calibration
- Automated margin testing to discover receiver performance “beyond the spec”
- Spec-defined or user-defined jitter frequency steps
- Simple setup, test execution, and reporting
- Fully configurable and customizable
- Advanced features for sequencing tests for multiple test conditions such as multiple lanes and Process, Voltage, and Temperature (PVT) testing.
