Following Taipei and Dongguan, GRL's Shanghai lab becomes the organization's third facility to become certified to conduct the full range of Thunderbolt™ specification technology, including the latest Thunderbolt™ 5.
Granite River Labs (“GRL”), a global leader in engineering services, automated test solutions for digital connectivity and charging technologies, and professional market access services, has received official accreditation to provide product certification testing services for Thunderbolt™ 5 hosts and devices at its Shanghai lab. Host and device manufacturers will not only benefit from comprehensive, expert-conducted certification services, but also from in-depth evaluations and technical debugging designed to accelerate product development cycles and improve market competitiveness.
GRL's close partnership with Intel® IDC, along with its ongoing R&D and long-term commitment to Thunderbolt™ technology, has allowed GRL to rapidly obtain the credentials required to conduct Thunderbolt™ 5 testing shortly after the specification's release in September 2023.
In less than six months, GRL Taipei lab achieved certification status in February 2024. This achievement was quickly followed by successes in GRL Dongguan in August 2024 and now GRL Shanghai. The new Thunderbolt™ 5 specification triples its predecessor's bandwidth to 80 Gbps in both directions, offering enhanced user experience for gaming enthusiasts, content creators and professionals.
