GRL and InjoinIC Announce its First Certified Quick Charge 4+ Silicon

Granite River Labs (GRL), a global leader in engineering services and test solutions for connectivity, and Shenzhen InjoinIC Technology Co., Ltd. a global leader in power management technology, today announced that the InjoinIC IP2726 Silicon product family has achieved Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 4+ certification – the first Silicon from InjoinIC to receive this distinction. Certification testing was performed at the GRL labs (ATC) in Dongguan, China.

Quick Charge 4+ implements additional safety measures to help protect against overcharging, overheating, and other potential issues. These safety measures adhere to both the USB Type-C® and USB Power Delivery (USB PD) specifications. New key features such as USB PD’s Programmable Power Supply (PPS) enable fast, efficient charging by allowing the phone to intelligently decide the optimal voltage and current levels and effectively communicate with the charger.

IP2726 supports the latest Quick Charge technology up to 100W. It can be configured via I2C, FB and Optocoupler. Online Flash Firmware upgrades offers greatest flexibilities to cater different applications.

“This is an important milestone for InjoinIC,” said Steven Peng, Director of Marketing, InjoinIC. “By successfully completing Quick Charge technology’s rigorous certification program, InjoinIC has demonstrated our commitment to extraordinary customer experiences using this revolutionary new technology in our IP2726. Our Chinese hardware customers emphasize strongly on interoperability and validation at every stage of the product lifecycle, from chip level to system level, including production testing.  GRL’s deep engineering expertise and industry leadership in new and emerging technologies enable us to support our customers.”

“We are thrilled to contribute to the success of InjoinIC’s groundbreaking new Quick Charge 4+ certified silicon,” said Johnson Tan, co-Founder & CEO of Granite River Labs.  “As an innovative leader in compliance testing with a proven history of USB PD verification, GRL has worked closely with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. and developers to help bring the speed, reliability, safety and consistency of Quick Charge to the entire mobile industry.”

GRL Labs has been selected by Qualcomm Technologies as one of the Quick Charge 2.0, 3.0, 4 and 4+ certification labs with its facilities in Santa Clara, Yokohama, Taipei, Shanghai, Dongguan and Bangalore. Furthermore, GRL C2 has been approved by Qualcomm Technologies as a Quick Charge 4 and Quick Charge 4+ certification tester.
