Manufacturers can now enjoy greater convenience at GRL’s one-stop test labs encompassing Zigbee, Matter, and Thread certification testing services for Wireless and IoT devices.
Granite River Labs (“GRL”), a global leader in engineering services, automated test solutions for digital connectivity and charging technologies, and professional market access services, is proud to announce its Taipei lab’s newly acquired status as a Connectivity Standards Alliance (“The Alliance”) recognized Authorized Test Laboratory (ATL) for Zigbee. Manufacturing customers of smart home devices and Internet of Things (IoT) wireless products can now fulfill the full range of Zigbee specifications through certification testing, pre-certification testing, and debugging services provided by design and engineering experts.
This milestone follows the Alliance’s recent accreditation of GRL as an official laboratory for testing the Matter standards, on top of recognition by the Thread Group for testing Thread 1.1, 1.2, and 1.3 smart home devices. This triple accreditation of Zigbee, Matter, and Thread propels GRL even closer towards becoming the one-stop destination for smart device and IoT testing services and a reliable partner in enhancing customer smart home capabilities.
Today, Zigbee is widely recognized as a complete IoT solution with more than half a billion chipsets deployed worldwide. An open-standard solution, Zigbee employs the IEEE 802.15.4 wireless mesh protocol that is, renowned for scalability in applications with numerous devices. Its mesh networking
and efficient protocols enable support for hundreds or thousands of devices, addressing various challenges and facilitating diverse use cases in the IoT market.
"GRL is pleased to broaden our laboratory's testing and validation capabilities with the incorporation of Zigbee testing services." said Vamshi Kandalla, Chief Strategy Officer at Granite River Labs. "We are excited to assist our customers to stay ahead of the competition in this rapidly growing market by offering seamless testing services through our one-stop shop for wireless and IoT devices.
“At the heart of any standard’s body is the commitment of our partners to propel the technology forward and enable greater convenience in getting safe and reliable IoT products to market,” said Jon Harros, Head of Certification and Testing Programs at the Alliance. “The addition of Zigbee testing to their existing Matter and Thread capabilities in Taipei is a welcomed convenience to the industry and we are very pleased with their continued support in the process.”
